My Mums Bag

I did get the bag finished for my mum for her chrissy pressie, I call it the curse bag, while i was making it my sewing machine broke down so my wonderful hubby let me get a new one, just a basic one but good to have for a spare anyway starting sewing again and whats goes first but the light in the new machine then the bobbin compartment fell apart, I didn't realise it was held in by clips, but I finally got it finished wrapped up and ready to take to my daughters to give to my mum but of course we forgot it. I couldn't believe the things that went wrong with this bag so I said it was cursed..lol..

We did go home and get it and took it back around to my mum, thankfully she really did like it and I was happy to see it out of my place :-)

Christmas Teddy

I finally got a picture of my christmas teddy up, I made him with a tea bag and coffee stained cotton nappy, it was a late thought in turning him into a christmas teddy so I made his little out fit out of some red felt I had left over and used some batting for the trim and a cotton ball for his hat, it sorta worked out.

Way behind

Wow, I just don't know where the time has gone but I am so far behind in what I want to make for christmas I don't know if I can catch up.

My 19 year old son decided to move back in for a couple of months, so I have been trying to fix up rooms, my 2 year old had to go back into my sewing room so I have now lost a lot of space and my sewing things have gone into the hallway cupboard.

I really feel a bit out of sorts but I will get it organized hopefully today and really get stuck back into it.

The good thing is though my son is home and will be here for chrissy.

But I have got my little chrissy teddy made will get a pic of him up soon and also made a play mat for my son from a panel I have had for ages, forgot all about it till I started shifting things around and found it, amazing what you have stashed away.

Doll making books

I have confused myself on not knowing which books I want to buy first. The ones I am interested in are,

the 3 books by Patti Medaris Culea, creative cloth doll making, creative cloth doll faces and creative cloth doll couture,

the other ones are by Susan Oroyan, Anatomy of a Doll: The Fabric Sculptor's Handbook, Designing the Doll: From Concept to Construction ,Finishing the Figure: Doll Costuming, Embellishments, Accessories

I will have to think a bit more on it and do some more reading up on them, I will post which ones I eventually pick.

Christmas stocking

Here is the christmas stocking I made for my grandson, I quilted the frount and fully lined the inside

the next one I did was the same but I binded the top with red felt and put a trim around it, silly me gave it to my other grandson before taking a pic of it so the one I'm making for my son I will do the same and make sure I get a pic of it.

Update

Thought I should put an update on what I have or more like haven't been doing, unfortunately my son has been sick, ear infection, flu, teething problems so I haven't been able to get alot of sewing done.

But I have finished one christmas stocking just gotta get hubby to put the pic on for me and I will put it up and bubs is getting better so over the next few weeks hopefully I will be very busy and get things finished.

Would you belive though while I was making the christmas stocking I actually run out of black cotton, couldn't belive it because one thing should always have at least on hand is black and white cotton, anyway I went running to the shops to get some more and what happens when I get home, I bought navy..ahhh teach me for not taking my time and look properly.

This is a baby shawl I made for Jacob when I was pregnant, the pattern came out of inspiration baby book, it took me ages to make, I'm not the worlds fastest hand embroider but it was very relaxing to do, poor hubby thought I wasn't going to get it finished in time but I did by two weeks :-)

What Flavor Ice Cream Are You

You Are Vanilla Ice Cream

Your personality is anything but "vanilla"
You're a risk taker, who's up for anything new.
You go well with anyone and fit into any situation.

You are most compatible with rocky road ice cream.

Jester Doll

My jester doll is finally finished, I'm pretty happy with him but I need to try and find him an instrument or something to hold. He is made from a pattern by Priscilla McDonald. I stll need a lot more practise with making these dolls especially with doing their faces, this one looks like he is a bit sleepy...lol but I'm really enjoying making them though.

My first soft sculptured doll

Daffy Down Dilly is the first soft sculptured doll I have made, a pattern by Priscilla McDonald.I really didn't do this doll much justice. I made a lot of mistakes so I never finished her off properly but I will be making her again as I know now where I went wrong and beable to make her better next time.

Quilt and teddy bear

Here is my teddy, he is made from a nappy and he came out of one of my magazines but I can't remember which one, I will have to go back and look for it.He was very easy to make and a lot of fun.

This is my quilt I have made, its actually a small wall quilt but it looks really good on the back of my lounge the pattern came from Leeanne Pitman.

Catching up

wow I didn't realise how long its been since I have been here so thought I better catch up on what I have been doing.

I have finally finished my quilt and teddy bear must put the pics of them up and I'm now working on a jester doll, he is going pretty good at the moment hopefully he will turn out okay, I've also just got a couple of other doll patterns in, cant wait to start them.

I also have finally bought some scrapbooking things and now just got to work out what photos to use then that can be on its way.

So many things want to do but I know I have to do one at a time or things get started and never finished.

Shopping frustration

I went shopping today at spotlight to get fabric for a quilt I'm making, it was just so frustrating as I couldn't find the fabric I wanted then when I finally decide on what to get and waiting for ages to be served I ended up running late to get hubby for lunch. After we got home I then went through what I bought just to cap it all off I was over charged on a meter of fabric, I got charged for 1.5 meters instead..grrr ...kicking myself for not checking the docket before I left.

Aussie Auction Sites

I also list some items, fabric, craft panels on two great aussie auction sites, they are, Oztion and Aussie Bids.

I use to list on ebay but due to their price increase with shops was not worth staying there but I feel alot better supporting an aussie site.

They are great sites and everyone is really friendly. So if you have time please pop in and have a look.
